Greenmotions Film Festival: Birdsong (OmeU)

Price: from 5.00€ to 12.00€

The Greenmotions Film Festival will be opening its doors to you again this year. From November 5 to 9, we invite you to exciting films, discussions and encounters at the Kommunale Kino. Every year we dedicate part of our program to a special question. This year's special theme is: "Closing the loop: living within planetary boundaries". We look forward to showing you films that shed light on how we can move from a linear to a circular way of life that conserves our planet's resources and can thus exist in harmony with our environment. The double screening demonstrates the beauty of nature and at the same time shows how endangered it is. The French short film Au 8ème Jour illustrates how mankind is tearing apart the balance of closely interwoven ecosystems. The artfully animated film serves as a cautionary metaphor for the role of humans on the planet.

The documentary Birdsong presents ornithologist Seán Ronayne's ambitious project to record the songs and calls of all the bird species that still breed in Ireland. To do this, he travels to some of the most beautiful and remote places in the country to find even the shyest species. His search is complicated by the fact that some of Ireland's bird populations are on the brink of extinction. With its intimate nature shots and charismatic, authentic protagonist, the film inevitably awakens a fascination for the wildlife that surrounds us.

Information on accessibility: The cinema is accessible via a ramp. The toilets are also accessible with a wheelchair. The movie theater is equipped with an inductive sound system.
