The Greenmotions Film Festival will be opening its doors to you again this year. From November 5 to 9, we invite you to exciting films, discussions and encounters at the Kommunale Kino. Every year we dedicate part of our program to a special question. This year's special theme is: "Closing the loop: living within planetary boundaries". We look forward to showing you films that shed light on how we can move from a linear to a circular way of life that conserves our planet's resources and can thus exist in harmony with our environment. Landscapes disfigured by industry, nature disfigured by mountains of garbage and car scrap: "Documerica" paints an unsparing picture of the USA. "Documerica" is the name of a photo program run by the US Environmental Protection Agency in the 1970s. The aim was to photographically document the dramatic ecological state of the country. From 1972, around one hundred photographers traveled the United States. Their photographs show the society of the time and its living conditions as a disturbing mosaic. The film Documerica looks back on the project with some of the photographers involved in the project and draws parallels between the United States 50 years ago and the USA today.
Information on accessibility: The cinema is accessible via a ramp. The toilets are also accessible with a wheelchair. The movie theater is equipped with an inductive sound system.
