Greenmotions Film Festival: Lost for words

The Greenmotions Film Festival will be opening its doors to you again this year. From November 5 to 9, we invite you to exciting films, discussions and encounters at the Kommunale Kino. Every year we dedicate part of our program to a special question. This year's special theme is: "Closing the loop: living within planetary boundaries". We look forward to showing you films that shed light on how we can move from a linear to a circular way of life that conserves our planet's resources and can thus exist in harmony with our environment. Lost for Words takes the audience on a journey through the UK, portraying landscapes and the communities that live in them. Taking as its starting point the disappearance of nature words from the Oxford Junior Dictionary in 2007, and inspired by Robert MacFarlane and Jackie Morris' bestselling book The Lost Words, it is lost words such as acorn, otter, bluebell and dandelion that guide us through the film. We follow them through the seasons, to the remotest parts of the UK, into museum archives and into the laboratories of scientists. Accessibility information: The cinema is accessible via a ramp.
