Greenmotions Film Festival: Purpose (OmU)

The Greenmotions Film Festival will be opening its doors to you again this year. From November 5 to 9, we invite you to exciting films, discussions and encounters at the Kommunale Kino. Every year we dedicate part of our program to a special question. This year's special theme is: "Closing the loop: living within planetary boundaries". We look forward to showing you films that shed light on how we can move from a linear to a circular way of life that conserves our planet's resources and can thus exist in harmony with our environment. The global multi-crisis is accelerating, affecting all levels of society: democracy, climate, biodiversity, migration, justice, equality, institutions, agriculture... And yet there is no mainstream debate on the issue at the heart of many - if not all - of these problems: our economic system. How they work, what they do and how they are designed is not really part of our public discussion. Purpose shows how economists Katherine Trebeck and Lorenzo Fioramonti are working to turn our society off its destructive course.

The film will be followed by a discussion with the director Martin Oetting, Benedikt Schmid from the University of Freiburg and a representative from ICLEI.
