The book "Grenzenlos lebendig" is not a classic travelogue, but an invitation to explore your own life.
This evening is a special reading with film clips, photos and show acts. Also with live piano accompaniment by Karin and Mio Stöcklin.
Julia Schmitz was a secondary school teacher with civil servant status in the Freiburg area - secure, recognized, well paid. But one day she felt that her life had become too narrow. What followed was a radical turnaround: World travel, tropical fever, circus projects, a depression - and finally a new start as a coach, facilitator and director of Germany's oldest facilitator school.
In her book "Grenzenlos lebendig", she recounts this extraordinary journey through life - honest, humorous and deeply inspiring.
Julia Schmitz takes her readers to places that seem like metaphors for life: to the Zip Zap circus in Cape Town, where children from townships gain self-confidence through artistry; to the Brazilian rainforest, where she learns photography as an art of looking; to Easter Island, where she discovers spirituality; to New Zealand and Rio de Janeiro, where she learns what happiness means.
But the real journey leads inwards - to where we really understand our fears, desires and values.
With impressive candor, Julia Schmitz describes how she found the courage to let go of everything familiar after a severe viral infection and a period of depression. She quit her job as a civil servant to live her dream: Encouraging people to find their own voice - as a coach, trainer and entrepreneur.
Today, she runs the Logo Institute, Germany's first school for presenters, and trains presenters, speakers and managers to present themselves authentically and confidently. Her mission: to help others become visible - both professionally and privately.
