Green funding for Freiburg residents
Monday, 14/07/2025 / Platz der Alten Synagoge (old synagogue square)
A small oasis in the oppressive summer heat: from July 3 to 31, the old synagogue square will have a green room. On a special roll-off container, lush greenery will climb up a two-metre-high open wall - providing shade and coolness on hot days. All Freiburg residents are invited to escape the stress of everyday life for a while. On various action days in July, the Environmental Protection Agency will be providing information on climate adaptation in the Green Room:
The Environmental Protection Agency offers various funding programs to green roofs, facades and courtyards, to design them to be species-rich and to make your own home climate-friendly with insulation or a PV system. The Environmental Protection Agency will provide advice on the municipal funding programs GebäudeGrün hoch³, Klimafreundlich Wohnen and Artenschutz in der Stadt and show what each and every one of us can do.
The events take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. next to the Green Room in the information pavilion of the Environmental Protection Agency: with information material to take away, hands-on activities and free drinking water from the drinking water dispenser.
