Whether nuclear research equipment, old tape recorders or celluloid recorders from the 1930s: Stefan Paul Goetsch is interested in everything that has circuits in it. And he elicits sounds from all these wondrous devices from around 100 years of technological history. With his YouTube channel under the pseudonym "Hainbach," he reaches many thousands of musicians and tinkering nerds from a wide variety of genres. His own music hovers between high and DIY culture, between techno nostalgia and experimental futurism. Reason enough to put him in a room with Ensemble Recherche for a week to develop a one-hour joint performance.
