Restless Feet
The Irish folk & punk band RESTLESS FEET was founded in 2011 by the two frontmen Markus Schillberg and Kai Ortolf, as well as violinist Marcel Bühler. The band originally came together for a one-off gig on St. Patrick's Day 2012. However, the response to the concert was so overwhelming that the band decided to give this genre a serious try. Numerous regional and national concerts followed, as well as joint appearances with folk-punk legends such as the Dropkick Murphys, Fiddler's Green, The Real McKenzies, The Porters, Uncle Bard & The Dirty Bastards, and ex-The Pogues guitarist Jamie Clarke.

AKAB (Pirate-Folk-Punk | Strassbourg / F)

Ireland, 1918, gangs of dockers and sailors fight for control of the port smuggling trade. The most notorious of them call themselves AKAB. With their reckless lightness, furious riffs and wild melodies, AKAB invite you on a crazy journey through time and across the seas.
The Strasbourg band play pirate-driven, lively pirate-celtic-folk-punk with lots of melody, diverse traditional and modern instrumentation, haunting choral interludes and grandiose chanson influences. A wet and happy atmosphere on the dance floor guaranteed!

Ahead to The Sea (Folk-Punk/D)

Ahead to the Sea concerts have become quite rare even in Breisgau since their "break-up" in 2010 - so the joy of seeing them again is great because Ahead to the Sea have been good friends of the Cafe Atlantik since it was founded in 2004.
The music is made up of various styles; the atmospheric guitar sound with Irish folk influences is striking, as are the two vocal parts and the leading role played by the flute and accordion.
Frontman Jochen (also Across the Border) is a guarantee for political topics and a good party.
