Hammond Jazz Night - Christmas Special

Every year, jazz musicians have taken a closer look at traditional Christmas carols in order to make them "resound" in a variety of colors and facets in a jazz guise. Many musicians have written and interpreted their own pieces on the theme of "Christmas". For the "Hammond Jazz Night Christmas Edition", both traditional Christmas songs and originals by well-known jazz musicians on the theme of Christmas are on the program. For the typical Hammond trio line-up, in which the "beast" (as the Hammond organ is known among musicians) plays the central role, host Thomas Bauser has brought two extremely sensitive, swinging and grooving partners on board: Freiburg guitarist Johannes Maikranz (ZMF prizewinner 2018) and drummer Jan Schwinning, who is also from the region.

As at the last Hammond Jazz Night, the Jazzhaus will once again be transformed into a "lounge" on this evening, with the audience seated downstairs in the hall right next to the musicians.
