Everyone talks about improvisation, Helmut Lörscher is one of those who inspire their audience live on stage! The Freiburg university professor is one of the few contemporary pianists who is naturally at home in both jazz and classical music.

The program features a varied mix of jazz standards, sophisticated arrangements and his own compositions. But for all the sophistication of the arrangements, the focus is always on lively enthusiasm, groove and esprit. And: Helmut Lörscher will involve the audience in the "art of the moment" during the course of the concert by spontaneously improvising on themes given to him! With this form of stylistic improvisation, he continues to amaze his concert audiences, as he did at the Improvisation Days of the Freiburg University of Music in 2011 alongside the American pianist Robert Levin.
