I don't feel it

Why do love stories generally end badly? Why do they end at all? And what does this have to do with the age of late capitalism? In her non-fiction comic ICH FÜHL'S NICHT, published in 2020, Swedish artist Liv Strömquist explores the emotional state of today's society from a feminist perspective. Using sociological and philosophical theories, the three performers from the Storytelling Engines collective examine how the self-optimization mania is turning us into narcissists and how liberal market logic is penetrating the most intimate areas of life. The visual level of the comic takes place through live drawing by Isabella Bartdorff. The setting and tone of the evening are based on a late-night talk show: three performers sit around a table. In a wine-soaked dialog, they negotiate Strömquist's original and examine what the material has to do with their own love lives.
