"Illu auf der Insel" puts human creativity in the spotlight. Between the Fundevogel bookstore and the Museum für Neue Kunst (Museum of Contemporary Art), Freiburg-based illustrators will show you how ideas become images—and invite you to get creative yourself. On a scavenger hunt across the entire island, you’ll discover different drawing styles, solve creative challenges, and pick up a reward at Fundevogel at the end. In the stairwell of the Museum für Neue Kunst (Museum of Contemporary Art), you can watch illustrators at work as they draw live. At the Fundevogel bookstore, Steph Burlefinger—known for her popular “hidden object” books—will show you how to draw yourself as a character in a hidden-object illustration. You’ll also run into Olha Skorobogatova doing urban sketching at various locations around the island. Watch, give it a try, and experience creativity right where it happens: in the exchange between people.
