The unique kaleidoscope of Freiburg's cobblestone mosaics naturally also has some academic traces to offer alongside the traditional, the political and the simply beautiful. The tour leads from the city's most beautiful paved squares to the twin city masterpieces in front of the town halls and finally to the university-related mosaics around the college buildings. The aim is to understand the craftsmanship, marvel at the beauty and puzzle over the mysterious.
