International conference on strength and conditioning training

The Institute of Sport and Sport Science at the University campus Freiburg is hosting the International Conference on Strength Training (ICST 2025) this year. From September 24 to 26, 2025, the event will bring together researchers from the fields of training and exercise science, biomechanics, medicine, performance physiology and sports medicine, sports psychology and psychology as well as physiotherapy with trainers, practitioners and experts in strength and fitness training from all over the world. The conference will be chaired by Prof. Dr. Urs Granacher, Professor of Training and Exercise Science at the University campus Freiburg.

"As a scientist in the field of strength and strength training as a prerequisite for performance in everyday motor and sporting activities, I am delighted to be hosting ICST 2025 at the University campus Freiburg," says Granacher. "With a focus on cutting-edge research and practical applications, the conference promises to provide new insights and promote joint projects that will take performance and health research through strength training to a new level." A pre-conference of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) will also take place at the Institute of Sport and Sport Science on September 23, 2025. The focus here is on combining science and practice.
