In cooperation with the Office for Equal Rights for Women, City of Freiburg - Reading with Prof. Dr. Schaeffer-Hegel, a women's rights activist and founder of the EAF (European Academy for Women). Prof. Dr. Schaeffer-Hegel, a formative figure in the German women's movement, describes in her life story a strong girl who is broken by stressful experiences and yet fights her way through resistance and her own despair to achieve a career that was unusual for women of her time. In an open and humorous way, she guides us through a special woman's life that is also typical of her generation. She studied several humanities subjects, taught internationally, initiated early women's conferences and founded important institutions such as the EAF and Femtec. She received high honors for her commitment, including the Federal Cross of Merit First Class. - Registration required.
