Johannes Mössinger's journey began many years ago in New York: his music, played by the greats of the international jazz world, exciting musical experiences, exploration and experimentation, a constant development of boundless possibilities across continents. And now we experience the pianist more mature, more diverse and more relaxed, an artist with profound expression.

He is now celebrating 60 years of Johannes Mössinger at the Freiburg Jazz Festival with a newly formed trio and is causing a sensation with his virtuoso piano playing and as a composer of expressive, delicate music. In congenial collaboration with Martin Gjakonovski on double bass and ECHO Jazz Award winner Bastian Jütte on drums, two exceptional musicians on the European jazz scene, the full range of his piano playing comes into its own. Echoes of Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk or Shostakovich and Bach can be heard and are skillfully developed further.
