Katharina Megnet: Searching and finding...

Free entry

As the saying goes: Seek and ye shall find... If only it were that simple. Some people search all their lives but never find what they are actually looking for. Perhaps this is what we call the artistic process - a perpetual search without ever arriving?

Katharina Megnet has searched tirelessly, always looking for new forms, means and media of expression. One could get the impression that the search was her real goal; she was fulfilled by always continuing on this path. The result: an immeasurably rich and diverse body of work, a selection of which is on display here at FORUM Merzhausen until November 24. The vernissage will take place on September 12 at 7 pm, admission is free. The exhibition can be viewed daily until 9 pm from outside through the foyer glazing.

Katharina Megnet (1956-2020): After graduating from high school, she studied school music (cello, piano and recorder) with a focus on special needs education; this was followed by positions as a music teacher and head of department at music schools in the Oldenburg and Hanover districts; from 1981, she studied play and theater pedagogy at the Hochschule der Künste (University of Applied Sciences).dagogy at the Berlin University of the Arts and training as a dance therapist; from 2015 studied painting and printing at the hKDM Freiburg; since 1993 professor of music, movement and theater pedagogy at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences Freiburg.
