Trumpeter BIRGIT ULHER will kick things off on October 29

"Something like an anti-trumpet": BIRGIT ULHER integrates noisy sounds into her playing and expands her instrument through the use of metal foils or loudspeakers.
BIRGIT ULHER is a freelance musician, sound artist and composer based in Hamburg. After studying fine arts, she developed her own playing techniques and preparations with trumpet, radio, loudspeakers and objects. Her work includes acoustic and electro-acoustic projects, solo performances, concert and sound installations, videos, concept pieces and concerts in the field of improvised/experimental music. She has received numerous scholarships and tours internationally with her concert activities.

In this concert, BIRGIT ULHER meets the e-version of the trio KIMMIG STUDER ZIMMERLIN, which has been performing on European stages with various projects since 2010. Continuity and the exploration of new things are equally important to the versatile trio. They have recently started playing with electric instruments and electronics, which led to the release of the highly acclaimed CD "Black Forest Diary".
