The composer Anno Schreier has been living in Freiburg since 2021. So it's high time to dedicate a portrait concert to this busy and extremely successful composer in his new home town. Soloists from the Holst-Sinfonietta will perform chamber music works by Schreier from the last 16 years and soprano Katharina Ruckgaber, together with Klaus Simon (piano), will premiere some of Anno Schreier's highly enjoyable, cheerfully ironic Morgensternlieder. Anno Schreier's music is accessible, musical and far removed from "new music". On the contrary: the more recent works make open reference to minimal music and elements of rock and pop music, but without running the risk of being "pleasing".
