High-gloss with depth - Already at the tender age of three, Khatia Buniatishvili took to the piano keys early on the stage and completed her first European tour at the age of ten. In 2008, the door to the Olympus of the international cultural scene opened - which the young pianist quickly conquered with her deeply inspired interpretations and glamour full of character. Growing up in war-torn Georgia, she had already wished for nothing as much as love and world peace as a child, the artist revealed in an interview with the classical music magazine Crescendo a few years ago. Today, as a world-renowned star pianist, she is able to lend weight to this cause, for example at benefit concerts in solidarity with Ukraine, for the benefit of victims of the Syrian civil war, and as an ambassador for the children's charity ,,Plan International".

The Albert Konzerte is delighted to present Khatia Buniatishvili for the first time in a piano recital in Freiburg after her celebrated interpretation of Tchaikovsky's 1st Piano Concerto with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in May 2022 with
. Vision and personal approach are the hallmarks of her solo recital programming. One can be sure of this: This artist only shows up with hand-picked pieces to which she has something to say. She once revealed that she sees the musical text as a composed love letter: "The score is like a letter to establish the connection between the composer and myself. I have to feel this connection in love to decide whether I want to play a composition or not." What luck for music that Khatia Buniatishvili does not lack love!
