Climate hero in the skilled trades

The "Climate heroine in the trades" project of the Women and Careers contact point invites you to a networking meeting. The aim is to bring together people who want to get involved in climate protection, a cultural change in the skilled trades and a stereotype-free career orientation for girls and (young) women.
Female tradespeople, business owners and employees in the trades, parents, teachers, school social workers and careers advisors are invited, as well as anyone who wants to encourage girls and (young) women to take up climate-relevant trades.
The skilled trades are central to climate protection, the energy transition and sustainable urban development. At the same time, women are still significantly underrepresented in many trades. This is precisely where the project comes in: it aims to promote climate protection with (young) women in climate-relevant trades. To this end, the participants are working closely with relevant stakeholders from the region: with representatives of the skilled trades, the Freiburg Chamber of Skilled Crafts, vocational schools, climate projects, careers advisors and women in the skilled trades.
The aim of the project, which is financed by the city's climate protection fund, is to bring about a cultural change in the skilled trades towards an appreciative, non-discriminatory work culture and stereotype-free career orientation and advice. It is also about networking women in the skilled trades, public relations work and making the topic and female role models visible and facilitating access.
