Art break: Nude painting and the training of female artists in the 19th century
Wednesday, 08/04/2026 / 12:30 PM - 01:00 PM / Augustinermuseum (Augustian Museum)
The Augustian museum invites you to a short guided tour of the exhibition "Moved into the light! Women artists in the 19th century". For a long time, nude painting was considered unsuitable for women and they were usually denied artistic training. The introduction of this subject at the Karlsruhe School of Painting marked an important step towards the professionalization of female artists. Mirja Straub puts the topic into historical perspective. Participation costs the regular entrance fee. As the number of participants is limited, a free event ticket must also be booked in the online store. The meeting point is on the top floor of the Augustian museum.
