Art break: The Barbizon School

Art break: The Barbizon School

The Augustian museum invites interested visitors to take an art break at the exhibition "Light and Landscape. Impressionists in Normandy". Pioneers of the style included landscape painters such as Daubigny, Courbet and Corot, who belonged to the Barbizon School. Many of the French open-air painters visited the painters' colony founded by Théodore Rousseau in the forest of Fontainebleau around 1830. The short tour shows the connections to Normandy. Participation costs the regular entrance fee.
