Art break: Thomas mythological animal creatures

Art break: Thomas mythological animal creatures

Hans Thomas' mythological animal creatures are the focus of a short tour of the Augustian museum with art historian Hélène Iehl. Tritons and Nereids with fish tails, horned fauns and centaurs with horse bodies, miraculous birds hovering in the sky: From the 1870s onwards, Thoma turned to a new, poetic pictorial world. This is populated by mixed creatures of all kinds, which mainly have their origins in Greco-Roman mythology. Participation costs the regular entrance fee. The number of participants is limited.
