Short Film Bash 2025 - The Blackwood Film Festival

The "Kurzfilmsause 2025 - The Blackwood Film Festival" will take place from October 17 to 19! You can look forward to a varied short film program, exciting film discussions, an interactive workshop, a festive awards ceremony and a big closing party.

From more than 250 submissions from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, we have selected 36 extraordinary short films: from documentaries to animated films to feature films, everything is included - sometimes to make you laugh, sometimes to make you cry, always gripping and touching. Each film block will be followed by film discussions with the filmmakers present - the perfect opportunity for you to ask your questions and talk to the filmmakers.

You also have the opportunity to take part in a great practical workshop on the subject of "Light in Film Noir". On Saturday evening, you can also look forward to a festive awards ceremony at ArTik/Freizeichen (https://www.artik-freiburg.de/). In addition to audience prizes for the best feature, animated, documentary and regional film, jury prizes will be awarded in the categories best cinematography, best direction and best acting. To celebrate the day, there will be a champagne reception with canapés where you can talk to each other and the filmmakers present. Admission is free.

Directly after the award ceremony, the audience can look forward to a festive champagne reception with delicious snacks. In addition, everyone who attends the award ceremony will receive discounted admission to our "Rushes" party, which starts at 23:00 at ArTik/Freizeichen. The Krachgarten Kollektiv will provide the appropriate soundtrack in combination with invited guests from near and far, who will stage a dazzling sound experience with an exquisite selection of beats and melodies. You didn't make it to the movie blocks? Don't worry! On Sunday, 19.10.2025, we will show all the winning films again at 6 p.m. in the Kommunales Kino - the "Best of Kurzfilmsause 2025", so to speak!
