Long Night of Democracy

On the eve of German Unity Day, a state-wide Long Night of Democracy will be held in Baden-Württemberg for the first time. During this night, democracy will be discussed, philosophized and argued about in a wide variety of formats.

Talk and reading with Ozan Zakariya Keskinkılıç (8 pm | Max-Kade-Auditorium of the University campus Freiburg)

Under the title "Muslimaniac. The Career of an Enemy", a reading followed by a discussion with the political scientist and freelance author Ozan Zakariya Keskinkılıç will take place at 8 p.m. in the Max Kade Auditorium at the University campus Freiburg. Registration at www.eveeno.com/muslimaniacfreiburg is mandatory, admission is free. The reading is organized by the Freiburg Office for Migration and Integration and the iz3w association, which jointly coordinate the "Partnership for Democracy", funded as part of the federal program "Live Democracy!". Other cooperation partners include the city's Gender and Diversity Office, the University campus Freiburg and the Social Service of Muslim Women Freiburg.

Marketplace of Democracy (7:30 pm | Winterer-Foyer of Theater Freiburg)

The Theater Freiburg in the Winterer Foyer will also host the Freiburg Marketplace of Democracy from 7:30 p.m. that evening: an open exchange space that includes various offers, including a meeting café, a think tank and an action forge. The City of Freiburg will be represented with an information stand on the Migrant Advisory Council and the participatory budget - interested parties can also test their knowledge there in a quiz. The AllWeDo association is organizing the event together with Theater Freiburg, the vhs Freiburg, the Stadtwandler association, the Transformationsräume initiative and the Democracy Education Department at the Bildungswerk der Erzdiözese Freiburg.

Further events

In the theater hall of the vhs Freiburg, the audience can expect from 19.30 under the motto "Nothing like it!" Theater scenes followed by a discussion by the grandmas against the right. An evening under the motto "Speak and listen" is the contribution of the EBW Freiburg multigenerational house to the Long Night of Democracy, starting at 8 p.m. in the multigenerational house in Weingarten.
