ReadingLounge: Elsbeth Schneider "P for Pole - as a forced laborer in Swabia" (2020)
Friday, 21/11/2025 / 05:30 PM - 07:00 PM / Augustinermuseum (Augustian Museum)
The Augustian museum is transformed into a reading lounge. This time it's about Elsbeth Schneider's novel "P wie Pole - als Zwangsarbeiter in Schwaben". In it, the author describes the precarious life of two Polish forced laborers on a farm in southern Germany - the story of a forced community in all its contradictions. Caroline Klemm from the Documentation Center for National Socialism places the fictional story in the context of Freiburg and establishes links to the biography of Josef Bednarz, a forced laborer who was deported from Poland to Freiburg.
