A book about resistance and consolation - and finding one's own political voice again.
Powerlessness has become the basic political feeling of our time. A rhetoric of hatred and contempt for humanity has hijacked the political discourse. Our coexistence is once again characterized by more violence. It is no wonder that more and more people are abandoning their belief in political action and retreating into the private sphere. Yet we know very well that active resistance and collective action are what is needed right now. But how can we find a political stance that can counter the spreading climate of hatred? In his new book, Daniel Schreiber outlines a radical path: A return to an idea of love as a political force. Using political, philosophical and socio-historical examples, he shows that this idea has triggered the greatest political revolutions.
Daniel Schreiber studied literature and performance studies in Berlin and New York and then worked as a freelance correspondent and editor.
