World star without airs and graces - how fantastic is Hilary Hahn? The answer consists of superlatives - the presenters of the internet format TwoSet Violin leave no doubt about that. In the world of the violin, she is like a world chess champion, always several moves ahead of the best. The two violin-playing entertainers use humor to introduce millions of viewers to classical music - and have already managed to get Hahn to do some spectacular things. This reveals a lot about this world star without airs and graces, whose joy of playing is as boundless as his ability to communicate music directly - whether in concert, in conversation or on recordings. Hahn once said of her recordings that there can never be a final word, but only snapshots of a life as an interpreter in a new musical partnership. This attitude also characterizes her performances. Every evening is unrepeatable, every work always has to be told anew. This is why the question of why Hahn has chosen such a frequently performed masterpiece as Felix Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto for her program does not even arise: Even after decades of study, it remains changeable, open, alive.

The violinist has worked with Vladimir Jurowski for many years. Jurowski is still associated with the orchestra, which he led for 15 years, as Conductor Emeritus. At the Albert Concerts, Mendelssohn's lyrical solo concerto will be combined with music by Richard Wagner and Anton Bruckner - two contemporaries whose sound worlds touch each other in a subtle way in the 7th Symphony.
