Maite Hontelé & Ramón Valle | Johannes Mössinger

Maite Hontelé moved to Colombia in 2008 to form her own band and perform with legends such as Rubén Blades, Isaac Delgado and Óscar D'León. The Grammy-nominated trumpeter now lives in Holland. Her warm tone and lyrical phrasing evoke memories of Miles Davis, Chet Baker and her idol Alfredo Armenteros. Ramón Valle is regarded as one of the most expressive and original pianists on the Afro-Cuban jazz scene. He has played with Roy Hargrove, Marcus Miller and Chucho Valdés. Together they present their duo album Havana.

Johannes Mössinger opens the double concert with a solo set and gives an insight into his latest program around the world of standards. The pianist transforms familiar themes, taking them to a new level. Everything moves, the space changes and the positions are shifted. In the end, a new light shines on it.
