Michel Winterberg | Drifting Futures

Free entry

In his exhibition Drifting Futures, media artist Michel Winterberg focuses on what lies beneath the visible surface of our reality. He explores hidden systems, enduring power structures as well as fragile visions of the future. These aspects are often algorithmically organized and beyond our control, even though they shape our thoughts and actions. We tend to suppress them in order to maintain our familiar normality and block out the overwhelming present. Winterberg's media art makes the patterns of this hidden reality tangible.

In Winterberg's exhibition, visitors are invited to wander through fragile fragments of our reality. Here, bodies are digital, codes are political, the climate is unstable and the future is uncertain. As a subversive counterweight to powerlessness, seriousness, and rigid system logic, a subtle humor emerges in many of his works.
