Crowned with thorns

On Tuesday, November 25 at 6.30 pm, the Catholic Academy invites you to an ART service in the Universitätskirche (university church) Freiburg (Bertoldstraße 17), where the works of sculptor Franz Gutmann will be examined anew.

Anyone entering the church will inevitably be confronted with the monumental figure of Christ in the choir - an expressive sculpture characterized by suffering and hope in equal measure, which has dominated the space since 1988. The focus of this special service is Gutmann's work, which characterizes the entire church interior of the original Jesuit church. The service will be accompanied by music from students of the KHG Orchestra Freiburg and Julie Pinsonneault on the organ.

An event organized by the Katholische Akademie Freiburg in cooperation with the Department of Art, Culture, Church in the archiepiscopal ordinariate and the Catholic university communities in Freiburg.
