Multifaceted insects - diversity, endangerment, protection
Thursday, 31/10/2024 / 10:00 AM - 05:00 PM / WaldHaus (Forest House) Freiburg
Free entry
Magnificent colors, bizarre body shapes and fascinating lifestyles: the diversity and adaptability of insects are overwhelming.
As the most species-rich group of all living creatures, their importance for life on earth is inestimable.
This makes their protection all the more important, as insects are threatened in their population and species richness worldwide.
In the interactive exhibition, the topics of diversity | endangerment | protection are presented in a varied and vivid way with numerous original exhibits, display boards, audio and video stations and large photos.
Numerous specimens provide an insight into the different groups such as beetles, butterflies, dragonflies, grasshoppers and many others.
Public opening: Thursday, October 10 at 6 p.m.
The exhibition in the Waldhaus is supported by the insect conservation project "BROMMI - Biosphere Reserves as Model Landscapes for Insect Conservation" (brommi.org).
Admission is free.
The Waldhaus is open Tuesdays to Fridays from 10 am to 5 pm and on Sundays and public holidays (with café) from 12 pm to 5 pm.
