Murat Coskun - Prizewinners' Concert (Reinhold Schneider Prize)

... and suddenly the phone rings!
The world percussionist Murat Coskun has won this year's Reinhold Schneider Prize, the cultural prize of the city of Freiburg in the music category! Congratulations!
The jury, led by First Mayor Ulrich von Kirchbach, honored the musician and founder of the Tamburi Mundi Festival for his "extensive and sensitive commitment as a bridge builder between cultures and genres".

The drummer, who is of Turkish origin, was practically born to build bridges, as from the very beginning it was important to understand, mediate and explain a world in which two cultures are lived and felt. And so Murat Coskun "opens the doors to world music in an approachable, unpretentious and empathetic way and strengthens the appreciation of different origins and artistic traditions".
