Under the heading "Music and Rurality", the College of Music Freiburg and the ZPKM, in cooperation with the FZM, are organizing an interdisciplinary conference on musical practices, styles and cultures in social transformation. We would like to bring together current research approaches that deal with the topic of rurality from the perspective of current forms of practice and/or recent historical developments, and initiate a discussion across disciplinary boundaries. Researchers and practitioners from music research disciplines and related fields as well as associations and music societies will be given a forum to engage in conversation with each other.
