Musical reading | Maman, Sylvie Schenk

Price: from 6.00€ to 9.00€

Listen to a story accompanied by music: French author Sylvie Schenk comes to Freiburg and presents her new book "Maman" at the CCF - with musical accompaniment by Heribert Leuchter.

About the book
A rapprochement with her own mother and a painful reckoning: Sylvie Schenk's mother was born in 1916 and her grandmother died in childbirth. She was supposedly a silk worker, just like her great-grandmother. But is that true? And what story is passed on to her descendants? As a child, Sylvie Schenk suffers from this ambiguity, and as a writer she is still characterized by great unease. With poetic precision, she traces the questions that her own family history leaves unanswered. "Maman" is both a daring venture and explosive literature. After "Schnell, dein Leben", the author has once again written a text full of beauty and temperament.
