Prof. Dr. Katelijne Schiltz (Regensburg) at "musik + wissen - Die Veranstaltungsreihe des FZM".
We cordially invite you to the fourth evening in the "musik + wissen" series of events organized by the Freiburg Research and Teaching Centre for Music(FZM).
Prof. Dr. Katelijne Schiltz, Professor of Musicology at the University of Regensburg, will speak about backward movements in music. In her lecture, she will present the initial results of her current book project on backward techniques in music from the Middle Ages to the present day. On the one hand, the interdisciplinary perspectives that can be used to examine the "backwards phenomenon" in music will be presented. On the other hand, there will be a special focus on questions of composition, notation, performance, reception and semantics of backward techniques, which she will examine using representative examples.
The event is open to the public and admission is free.
Afterwards there will be an opportunity for a toast and personal exchange. We look forward to seeing you there!
