NEW PLACE Lecture: Memories of Gerald Schwab
Tuesday, 20/01/2026 / 07:00 PM - 08:30 PM / Documentation Center National Socialism
Christiane Walesch-Schneller (Blaues Haus memorial and education center in Breisach) traces the stages of Gerhard Abraham Schwab's (*1952 in Freiburg) life in a lecture: his childhood, which was marked by Nazi persecution, his successful escape to the USA and his participation as a US soldier in the liberation of Europe. As a translator, Schwab took part in the Nuremberg trials from 1946 and visited his destroyed homeland from there: Breisach, Freiburg, Lörrach. Participation is free of charge.
The event will take place in the Carl-Schurz-Haus.
