Concert for his new album "Night Songs" (to be released on 24.1.25) in the Theaterfoyer of the Wallgraben Theater
Michael Moravek uses the quiet hours of the night to transform his thoughts into music. His new album Night Songs is a captivating collection of songs written in the time between darkness and the first light of dawn. These nocturnal reflections are full of contradictions and reflect the universal feelings that haunt us on sleepless nights.
The minimalistically arranged songs were recorded in a creative flow within a few days, as soon as they were put down on paper.
Inspired by Springsteen's legendary album Nebraska, Moravek realized that the fleeting magic is often lost when songs linger too long in an arrangement process. For him, the moment of creation is crucial.
Michael Moravek is one of the most poetic Americana songwriters in Germany. His music is profound and atmospheric, filled with hopeful melancholy and always with a biographical undertone. With his band, he is considered one of the most fascinating acts in the German Americana genre, enriched with a refreshing jazzy note. His previous releases include the album November, which was highly praised by Deutschlandfunk and includes songs written for a play based on Melville's Moby Dick. Moravek manages to open up a world of emotions and stories with every note.
