The three musicians with front woman Franziska Gabriel create an exciting connection: songs and tunes from Ireland, paired with selected pieces from Sweden and Norway.

It quickly becomes clear how strongly these traditions interact. Sometimes lively polkas transport the listener to Scandinavia, sometimes ballads tell of Irish legendary figures - the next moment the band unites the two traditions to create something completely new. The sound of Northern Light is created by the interplay of the voices with the three different melody instruments, on the foundation of accordion bass and the big bouzouki.
