Public service Shabbat No'ach

Public service Shabbat No'ach

Our longtime cantor Moshe Hayoun will lead the service, which actually begins at 9:30 am. The first part consists of the daily morning prayer, supplemented by some additional solemn prayers and psalms for the Shabbat.

But it only gets exciting at around 10:30 a.m. when the Torah scroll, written by hand on parchment with a quill pen, is ceremoniously lifted from the shrine and the weekly passage No'ach from the first book of Moses is read out in the original Hebrew.

After the end of the prayer service, we will go together to the community hall for the Kiddush, the traditional blessing over wine and bread, followed by a communal meal and a prayer of thanksgiving.
Thierry Frenkel will explain the structure of the Jewish prayer service, explain traditions and rituals and will also be happy to answer questions from visitors during the Kiddush.

Note
Participation in the service itself is of course free of charge. A fee (€15/€10) is charged for participation in the Kiddush. Registration by name is required in any case for security reasons.
