Hi, I'm Okan Seese - deaf, gay, of Turkish descent and someone who not only lives diversity, but celebrates it. My neighbors love me, by the way: I've never called the police because of noise. When it comes to activity games, however, the mood quickly changes - at the latest after my tenth win. No wonder: I grew up in a deaf family and have been signing from an early age.

My view of the world is rarely "standard". For me, art is a vital form of expression - that's why I'm an actor, music translator, sign language poet, presenter and comedian. People in the deaf community have known me for a long time - and I've also been on the big stages and screens: I've appeared on "Comedy Sommer" (ZDF), "Die besten Comedians Deutschlands" (SAT.1) and the legendary "Quatsch Comedy Club" (ProSieben).

Now I'm going one step further: With "Tomaten auf den Ohren" I'm presenting my second stand-up program - full of new stories, new perspectives and lots of humor. As always, I perform for both hearing and deaf people - supported by a voicer who translates my jokes live into spoken language. An evening that shows: Humor knows no barriers.

Come along and see for yourself - at "Tomaten auf den Ohren"!

BETTER TOMATOES ON YOUR EARS ...

than a plank in front of your head! Okan Seese can't hear. But he has all the more to tell - or rather: to sign! About his life between two cultures as a deaf, gay man, about funny dates, the challenges of visiting the doctor without an interpreter - and what happens when Jehovah's Witnesses turn up at his door.
