Online lecture "Dementia and spirituality"

Free entry

"Dementia and spirituality" is the topic of an online lecture followed by a discussion on Tuesday, May 15 at 7 pm. Theologian and bereavement counselor Carmen Birkholz from Essen will focus on the spiritual needs of people with dementia and explore the question of how appropriate support can be provided in this area.

Spirituality remains an important factor in the well-being of people with dementia. The National Dementia Strategy also assigns spiritual care an important role in supporting people with dementia. In her lecture, Carmen Birkholz will report on her practical experiences and scientific findings. Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity to exchange ideas and reflect on how to implement them in your own practice.

The event will take place online and will be interpreted into German Sign Language (DGS).

The event is organized by the Catholic Academy in cooperation with the Department of Inclusion - Generations at the Archbishop's Pastoral Care Office in Freiburg and the Forum on Ageing. The series is part of the Palliative Care Forum of the Archdiocese of Freiburg.

Participation is free of charge, registration is required at: www.katholische-akademie-freiburg.de.
