Eastern European Perspectives - Literature, History and Politics for a Europe of the Future

Book tickets

After kicking off on December 5 at the Catholic Academy, the discourse festival will expand the following day at the Freiburg City Theater with a look at new literature: the poetry anthology "Translating War. Poems from Ukraine" (edition.fotoTAPETA, 2024) will be presented by poets Iryna Shuvalova and Ulrike Almut Sandig in conversation with co-editor Claudia Dathe. The author Katja Petrowskaja, who was born in Kyiv and now lives in Berlin, and her colleagues Volha Hapeyeva from Belarus and Katarína Kucbelová from Slovakia will read. The event will conclude with poems from the volume "Chronik des eigenen Atems" (Suhrkamp, 2024) by Ukrainian Peace Prize winner Serhij Zhadan.

Further information on both days of the event and advance ticket sales will be available here from the end of September.
