Becoming a pedagogical specialist - but how?

The job market currently offers excellent opportunities for pedagogical specialists. You can find out how to enter this profession at the information event organized by the Women and Careers Contact Point. The event is aimed at all women from the Freiburg region who are interested in the care, upbringing and education of children. Career changers are just as welcome as women who have already worked or graduated in educational professions abroad. Participants will receive answers to many questions on the topic: How can I become a pedagogical specialist? Where can I then work? And what opportunities do I have if I already have professional experience with children aged 0 to 10? As an introduction, educational professionals will provide insights into their professional practice and report on how they succeeded in making a career change. Short presentations will then provide information about the various training opportunities: For example, there are school-based training courses to become both an educator and a social pedagogical assistant (childcare worker). However, it is also possible to enter the profession via a course for the school-leaving examination, a practice-integrated training course to become a nursery teacher (PIA) or the new "Direct entry to daycare" course. Women with a migration background can find out how they can use a teaching qualification obtained abroad. There will also be information about possible financial grants and the language and school requirements for training. After the presentations, experts from the participating institutions will answer individual questions.
