Parisian salon above Freiburg's rooftops
Ernest Chausson and Claude Débussy
Saturday, 15/02/2025 / 08:00 PM / Humboldt Hall at the Freiburger Hof
In this concert, the Humboldt Hall presents itself as a French salon. You will hear two stimulating piano trios: Claude Debussy's rapturous youthful work in G major from 1879/80 and Ernest Chausson's Trio in G minor from 1881 - already with Wagnerian echoes. Mathias Schillmöller, who himself lived in the city on the Seine for a long time, acts as emcee, interplaying the two works with images and texts. In this way, the young Claude Debussy enters into an inspiring dialog with his composer friend Ernest Chausson above the rooftops of Freiburg, embedded in the circle of friends spanning all artistic disciplines.
