Petrikor Danse "Habitat" - dance theater piece at the Frei Art Festival 2025

Petrikor Danse is one of the most outstanding dance companies from North America. Originally from Canada, the company's multidisciplinary performances have wowed international festivals and the trade press.

The Guardian wrote ""One of the best recent performances ... the use of light, inside and outside the costume, evokes both the pastel shimmer of the Northern Lights and the flames of a forest fire."

The interdisciplinary dance performance combines movement, sound, a sculpture called Hermes consisting of 600 moving paper cones and light. All elements are controlled by the performer in real time and at the same time form her shell, her living space. The interplay of light and sculpture creates impressive visual effects reminiscent of the Northern Lights. All of this makes Habitat a hypnotic, poetic experience with a mysterious, aquatic atmosphere. Petrikor Danse closes the Frei Art Festival 2025 with the performance "Habitat".
