Diverse & vegan: regional vegetables meet Asian cuisine!
Immerse yourself in the colorful world of seasonal, vegan cuisine! The Freiburg & Region Food Council invites you to this special cooking workshop where regional vegetable diversity and Asian cuisine meet. Together with the experienced organic gardener Jannis Althais, you will get to know the vegetables directly from the Querbeet market garden - fresh, seasonal and with transparent origins. The founder and chef Ling Long of the Asian restaurant Isst Balance - community kitchen will show you how to prepare these regional treasures in a healthy and aromatic way. Suitable spices and plant-based proteins such as tofu are used so that you can take home new recipe ideas for balanced, climate-friendly cuisine. The perfect way to start the colder season feeling invigorated and full of flavor!
About the people: Ling Dong is a TCM practitioner, founder of Isst Balance - community kitchen in Freiburg and Titisee and a sustainable business economist. Having grown up in a gastronomy and engineering family in China, she combines culinary creativity with a sound knowledge of healthy eating. Her goal: to share the joy of delicious, balanced food.
Jannis Althaus is a vegetable grower, food enthusiast and manager of the Demeter Querbeet market garden in Eichstetten am Kaiserstuhl. As a passionate amateur chef, he not only brings fresh, seasonal vegetables directly from his fields, but also his practical expertise in cultivation and quality. In the workshop, he supports Ling and provides insights into sustainable farming and ensures the perfect selection of ingredients.
