Learn more about the basics and cultural significance of fermentation with the Freiburg & Region Food Council. In this workshop, Jakob Hörl will show you how to use lactic acid fermentation to not only preserve locally grown seasonal vegetables, but also enhance their flavor and enrich them with valuable nutrients. Fermented food is also an uncomplicated and delicious accompaniment to a colorful and fresh snack or evening meal. Everyone gets to take a jar of fermented food home with them at the end. About the person: Jakob Hörl learned how to ferment from his grandmother. He regularly gives fermentation courses and imparts practical knowledge on the natural preservation of fruit and vegetables.
