A portrait of Poulenc

Free entry

Poulenc im Portrait is the founding project of the ArcoIris Kammermusik-Kollektiv e.V. - an association of musicians who have set themselves the task of highlighting the chamber music oeuvre in theme-centered concerts.
The two concerts on November 9 and 10 are dedicated to the work of the French composer Francis Poulenc: excerpts from his chamber music for wind instruments will be performed as well as the song cycle Le travail du peintre, the chamber cantata Un soir de neige, the Sept Chansons for chamber choir (conductor: Johannes Opfermann) and much more. Poulenc's dazzling music is to shine in a new light through the interaction of music, poetry and visual art. In collaboration with dramaturge Lilli Oeverink and visual artist Lilianna Hoyme, an overall concept has been created that offers the audience an extraordinary concert experience and shows the diversity of Poulenc's music from different perspectives.

The performers are up-and-coming musicians from all over Germany, some of whom are studying at German music academies, while others are already successful graduates who are establishing themselves as professional musicians.

Admission is free. Donations are requested.
